Facebook and Reliance Communications are making the internet available to millions of people in India through the launch of the Internet.org app and free basic services. This is the first time the Internet.org app will be available in the region.
Reliance customers in six Indian states (Tamil Nadu, Mahararashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana) will now have access to more than three dozen services ranging from news, maternal health, travel, local jobs, sports, communication, and local government information.
Reliance customers in India can access these services in the Internet.org Android app, at www.internet.org, from the start screen of the Opera Mini mobile web browser, and using the Android app UC Browser for Internet.org. Most of the services will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi.

Internet.Org Service is available for all GSM (Postpaid/Prepaid) & CDMA (Prepaid) Mobile Customers in Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, and Kerala regions. Note that this service is for only Mobile device users.

Internet.Org is a service jointly launched by Reliance & Facebook in India, having a host of Free Services/websites which are Free of Charge for Reliance Customers.

HOW TO ACTIVATE IT

Go to www.internet.org using mobile web browser.
Customer will be presented with the language selection page where choice of language can be selected. By default, the regional language will be selected. Customer can opt for other languages by clicking '+' button on the page.
Click "Continue" to get to the main page of Internet.org, with "Free Services" & "Reliance" sections displayed in the choice of language.

Customer can also download the internet.org app (only available on android currently), from the Google Play store. However the one time data downloading charges of the internet.org android app is NOT free. Customer will be charged as per his data tariff. Alternately, customer can go to www.internet.org to access the site to avoid the one-time app download charge.
Minimum balance of 20 paise is required in case of Prepaid Customers. Customer can be charged if his Smartphone has some applications running in the background, utilizing data.
